Self-determined life in the rhythm of nature
Franz Josef Keilhofer is a real original: he lives and works in harmony with nature, is a boy from the Berchtesgadener Land and lives in the family's farmhouse from 1710 at the foot of the Watzmann. Keilhofer is a woodworker - above all. Here he talks about his special relationship with wood and what nature teaches us. He takes us into the foggy undergrowth, explains why the felled oak is stored in the ground, that the yew tree on the workbench gives off the smell of dark chocolate and why every single piece of wood always requires its own unique way of working. Franz Josef Keilhofer's world seems to consist only of trees and wood and yet it teaches the whole of existence. A book about finding the right tree and recognizing the right life - the craft of living.
Franz Josef Keilhofer (Author)
Franz Josef Keilhofer, 28, is an outdoorsman from the Berchtesgadener Land and works as a turner with what, in his opinion, is the most beautiful material ever: wood. He became famous not only because of his unique craftsmanship, but also as an ambassador for the campaign of the Bavarian Tourism Association in 2015 - numerous press articles and television reports about the distinctive beard bearer were to follow. In addition, Keilhofer gives seminars on turning work and writes for specialist magazines.
We have read the book and can recommend it with a clear conscience. It reads easily, is extremely entertaining and disarmingly honest. Keilhofer's approach to his work is authentic and shows an attitude.
