The complete range of tools from pfeil is ground and honed ready for use and the steels are characterized by their high quality, cutting edge sharpness and long service life. The tool handles are made of selected woods and treated with high quality wood oil. The handles are dimensioned according to the intended use and fit very well in the hand.

You will find the right tool size for every project size. The large sculptor's chisels are designed for heavy-duty work. You can use the smaller medium-sized tools for more intricate projects and handiwork without mallet. The woodcut and linocut chisels are used to work on small projects or to make printing plates for woodcut or linocut printing. For very large projects offer the axes, dexels and carving axes, as well as the  heavy duty-fishtail gouges and draeyer gouges. And above all, you will find an extensive selection of differently shaped carving knifes.

We offer all tool sizes as flat chisels, gouges and v tools, each in different widths and with different bevels. The tools are described with the industry standard edge numbers. Stitch 1 stands for flat chisel, stitches 2 to 11 are gouges and stitches 12 to 16 are square cutting edges - v tools. Special shapes of cutting edges are described with other higher edge numbers, such as macaroni tools, fluteroni tools, Stähli gouges and many more. In addition, the tools are available with curved and cranked shape, one or two-sided cutting edge chamfer and with straight or oblique cutting edge.

Information on sharpening pfeil tools can be found in the catalog on page 60 and in this documentation. For honing, we recommend small hard Arkansas honing stones in the appropriate shapes such as this set or this set or the less expensive artificial stones. The honing stones can be used with water or oil. You can find suitable oils here. For polishing you can use leather honing wheels. Furthermore, polishing and honing can be done with felt or leather wheels using honing pastes. For grinding (when honing is no longer sufficient) we recommend slow-running wet sharpening machines. There is a wide range of accessories for this, also for carving tools and also leather honing wheels.
