Copy turning steel (pointed steel) Stellite®. Stellite is a trademarked name of Deloro Stellite Holdings Corporation. It is a sintered material. Its main feature is the high resistance to wear, which is maintained even at high temperatures. In the case of copy turning steels, a Stellite cutting insert is brazed onto a steel support. The cutting plate has a usable length of approx. 40 mm. The carrier has a square cross-section 19x19 mm and a total length of 140 mm. In order to achieve a high cutting edge, it is necessary to grind on a fine-grain aluminum oxide disc (80 or 100 jot) and sharpen it with a diamond file (grain 600). A good edge sharpness is achieved. The tool life compared to HSS is significantly longer (approx. 5 times).
