Sanding star

Sanding stars for easy sanding of woodwork

The surfaces of various fretsaw, chainsaw and woodturning projects need to be sanded completely smooth at the end. Depending on the surface finish and complexity of the project, this sanding process can be difficult to accomplish. Sanding with sandpaper strips or narrow key files can be tedious and time-consuming, especially for objects with many internal cut-outs and/or particularly intricate figures. It is also frustrating that the majority of the results you achieve are uneven. Experienced wood artists therefore have a sanding star to hand. With this sanding tool, you can remove fiber residues, break edges evenly and sand irregular surfaces. Working with a sanding star prevents excessive material removal and also saves time and effort.

Sanding stars for coarse and fine sanding in various grit sizes

We offer you sanding stars in different grit sizes, choose the sanding grit for your project. The number marked with the letter "K" informs you about the structure of the sanded surface and the intensity of the material removal. A sanding stone with a grain size of 120 to 180 millimetres should be used for coarse sanding. This allows edges to be sanded into curves and shapes and surfaces to be sanded precisely. Depending on the type of wood used, sanding marks may still be visible. To remove these fine scratches from the surface of your workpiece, it must be re-sanded with a sanding stone with a grain size of 240, 340 or 400 millimetres. The advantage of fine sanding with this fine grit is that the surface can then be refined. Contours and cut-outs are given a fine, velvety appearance.
You should therefore always have a small selection of grinders for drills to hand.

Processing different materials

Metals, ceramics, stone and various other materials can be processed with our abrasive stars. To avoid contamination, do not process different materials with the same abrasive star.
