Aluminium oxide abrasive belts are suitable for carving tools etc., zirconium is suitable for HSS turning tools.
 
At the tool manufacturer Robert Sorby  woodturning and sculpting tools are sharpened in production with industrial belt grinding machines. This ProEdge belt sander was developed by Sorby as a variant for craft businesses and private woodworkers. The durable sanding belts, which are available in various designs and grit sizes, achieve very effective material removal and extremely fine tool cutting edges. Belt sanders have the great advantage that the risk of overheating the tool cutting edges during sharpening is significantly reduced.
 
The infinitely adjustable sanding belt guide allows great freedom of movement during the sharpening process. Changing the sanding belts is child's play and can be done in a matter of seconds.
 
There is a large selection of accessories for the Sorby ProEdge belt grinder so that all kinds of tools such as turning tools, chisels, knives, scissors and much more can be sharpened.
 
The belt grinder is equipped with a single-phase 230 volt motor with an output of 0.37 KW.
