Abrasive belts made of aluminium oxide are suitable for carving tools etc, zirconium is suitable for HSS turning tools.

 

At the tool manufacturer Robert Sorby from England, woodturners and sculpting tools are sharpened with industrial belt grinding machines. This ProEdge belt sander was developed by Sorby as a variant for craft businesses and private woodworkers. The durable sanding belts, which are available in different designs and grains, achieve a very effective material removal and extremely fine tool edges. Belt grinders have the great advantage that the tool cutting edges are significantly less overheated.

 

The continuously adjustable grinding belt guide enables versatile freedom of movement during the sharpening process.

 

There are versatile accessories for the Sorby ProEdge belt sander, so that all possible tools, turning gouges, chisels, knives, scissors and much more can be sharpened.
