Product information "Sorby Setting Gauge for Tool Grinding Machines"

When grinding turning tools with the help of sharpening aids, the resulting wedge angle of the tool depends on how far the tool protrudes from the sharpening device. The further the tool protrudes, the more acute the angle.
With this setting gauge, turning tools can be positioned in holding fixtures with repeatable accuracy. The gauge is either screwed to a location near the sharpening machine, but can also be placed with the stop on the edge of a worktop.
