Product information "Sorby Eccentric Chuck"
The unique design of the Robert Sorby eccentric chuck enables the woodturner to produce a large number of irregular shapes precisely and safely. An exact repeatability of the settings is also possible without any problems.
- The robust chuck is ideal for medium to large lathes
- It weighs 2.5 kg and can withstand larger imbalances without any problems
- It is supplied with an M33 spindle thread adapter as standard. Other thread sizes are available upon request
The Robert Sorby eccentric chuck is designed so that the unbalance of the eccentric clamping is largely compensated. This gives the chuck high stability and prevents damage to the lathe and workpiece and prevents injuries.
The clamping of the workpiece is so secure that often no tailstock is required to support the workpiece. There are three clamping options - with a faceplate, screw chuck or ball joint.
The eccentric body is provided with markings from 0 to 35, which indicate the eccentricity of the workpiece. 0 means concentric restraint. The clearly visible markings allow not only precise setting, but also clear restoration of settings at a later point in time.
