The Axminster SK114 chuck with its slim, CNC-milled stainless steel body and integrated base jaws is fully compatible with all previous top jaws from the manufacturer Axminster. The lathe chuck is precision machined from stainless steel and is easy to use with the square key supplied.
Key features:
- Manufactured in Axminster (UK)
- Diameter 114 mm
- Spindle thread M33 x 3.5
- Square key 9x9 mm for secure hold and powerful torque
- Stainless steel housing, maximum corrosion resistance
- High concentricity due to chuck body with direct thread
- Compatible with all previous accessory and dovetail jaws
- Interchangeable chuck base jaws for screwing on the top jaws
The Axminster Evolution SK114 lathe chuck is super slim, incredibly precise and compatible with all existing Axminster accessories.
Highest precision as standard!
The Evolution SK114 is manufactured from stainless steel to the tightest tolerances so that both the jaw guide and the integrated spindle thread fit perfectly. Other chucks on the market are often coated, which means that the chuck is manufactured undersized and then brought to the correct tolerances through the coating process. A process that is far less precise.
By machining the jaw raceways, the screw guide and the thread in a single operation, concentricity is absolutely guaranteed. And that's not all: the jaws are machined with an accuracy of 2 micrometers. The lathe chuck can therefore be classified as super-precision in terms of accuracy.
Three hardened pinions ensure that the chuck is always accessible from any angle for clamping with the key. The key is fitted with a square so that it sits securely in the pinion and is easy to operate.
Due to moisture in wood and in workshops, standard chucks can corrode over time. For this reason, the housing of the Evolution SK114 is made entirely of stainless steel, which prevents the chuck from rusting.
The Evolution SK114 chuck is only 50 mm wide and has been designed to sit as close as possible to the headstock bearing. This minimizes vibrations and achieves a much smoother turning action, enabling faster and cleaner cuts. This is not only extremely important when turning large hollow bodies, but is also good engineering practice, as the bearings are not overloaded.
