Product information "Chestnut French Polish 0,5Ltr."

French polish is a traditional mixture of solvent (methylated spirits) and a high quality unbleached shellac.

It is applied either to bare wood or over a shellac sanding base and in many coats described as cigarette paper thick.

Shellac polishing gives a rich amber sheen to fine antique furniture and requires a very specialized technique that is time consuming and tedious, but the end result is worth the effort.

Shellac polish is not very durable.
