250mm disc diameter, suitable for Tormek T-7, T-8 and 2000 series
Tormek's diamond grinding discs are available in three grains: coarse (360), fine (600) and extra fine (1200). The high quality of the diamond grinding surface ensures efficient, constant sharpening and a constant diameter of the grinding wheel. Those who sharpen the same tool frequently will particularly benefit from this function, as it simplifies set-up and sharpening.
Diamond is the hardest natural material. It's almost twice as hard as boron nitride (CBN), another commonly used abrasive. Its extreme hardness and durability make diamond the ideal grinding material.
Another practical feature of the Tormek diamond grinding wheels is the diamond layer on the side, which is perfect for sharpening small carving tools such as gouges and goat's feet as well as planing knives,
wood chisels and knives. The result is a completely smooth bevel instead of a hollow grind.
When sharpening on the side of the diamond grinding wheels with the new multi-holder MB-100, the user always has good support and control thanks to the Tormek devices. Another advantage of the new diamond grinding wheels is that they can be sharpened with or without water. However, Tormek always recommends sharpening with water as this will extend the life of the wheel and provide better results.
The Tormek diamond grinding discs complement the water grinding system, they are not a substitute for the original Tormek whetstone. All diamond grinding wheels are suitable for different materials,
for example steel, ceramic and hard metal.
Grain 360:
The coarse grinding wheel achieves efficient removal and quickly repairs a dull or damaged cutting edge.
Grain 600:
The grinding wheel combines effective material removal with a fine grinding surface and a long service life.
Grain 1200:
The extra-fine grinding wheel achieves a very fine grinding surface and is ideal for carving tools and knives when the material removal is to be low.
