Comprehensive starter set for pin turning

A pin mandrel is very useful for clamping pin blanks or similar workpieces in the lathe. The mandrel is fitted with an 1MT or 2MT morse taper. It is held on the tailstock side with the centre punch point running with it. The workpiece is clamped with a brass knurled nut. Cylindrical spacer bushes can be used to clamp blanks of various lengths. Additional spacer rings are available.
The mandrel is adjustable in length and has a diameter of 6.2mm (mandrel diameter) and is therefore suitable for almost all commercially available pin kits.

The case set contains:

  • Length-adjustable mandrel with 1MT or 2MT receptacle (Please select!)
  • 3 parallel sleeves
  • 4 conical sleeves
  • Face milling cutter for the pen blanks
  • 5 biros kits with refill (see also these kits...)
  • 3 drills with diameters 6.8 / 6.9 and 7mm
  • Allen key and open-end spanner


Please note that you will need a cannulated spindle to accommodate this mandrel in order to be able to knock out the Morse taper again.

With maximum utilisation of the length adjustment, the distance between the knurled nut (without lock nut) and the Morse taper receptacle body is approx. 170mm.

Top Qualität und alles dabei was man für den Anfang braucht.

Ich bin absolut begeistert. Das Set kam am Samstag, gegen Mittag, an. Bist der erste Schreiber aus Bongossi fertig war, hat es etwas gedauert. Ich musste erst mal schauen wie das alles Funktioniert. Danach habe ich gleich noch zwei weitere Schreiber (einen aus Rüster und einen aus Ahorn) gemacht. Es ist wirklich alles dabei. Jetzt hat mich das Fieber gepackt und ich werde die nächste Zeit sehr viel Zeit mit dem Drechseln von Schreibgeräten verbringen. Die Qualität von dem Mandrel hat mich absolut überzeugt.
