Attention:
To prevent the oil lamp from sooting and flickering, the wick should protrude as little as possible from the threaded head and should never protrude beyond the burner head. When you close the burner, the wick often slips up again. In this case, either push the wick back in or simply shorten it. The burner must only be filled 2/3 full, otherwise oil can leak out when the burner is hot. The wick holder is only loosely screwed into the container - DO NOT screw it too tightly, otherwise a vacuum could develop and oil could leak onto the cover plate.
