High quality grain grinder with stepless adjustment (muesli-coarse to flour-fine) containing:
- Pair of millstones
- Crank made of polished stainless steel with slide bearing
- Crank knob
- Adjusting screw beech / self-locking nut / adhesive scale
- Millstone axle + socket
- Ball-bearing
- 2 wood screws
The grinder is suitable for all types of grain, except corn.
The millstone is made of Naxos basalt with a magnesite-salt bond. The materials used in it are harmless to health.
The millstone does not require any maintenance. It is self-sharpening and self-centring. The grinder works residue-free and does not need to be cleaned. Avoid oily or moist grist. However, if the grinder is "clogged" with moist or oily grist, it is advisable to grind a tablespoon of raw rice. The brittle and dry rice cleans the millstone again.
Make sure that the grinder does not run "dry", i.e. without any grist. If the stones grind one another directly without any grist, the stone will become dull.
Dimensions:
- Ø grinding ring: 86mm
- Thickness of the pair of millstones: 40mm
- Height from the grinding stone cone to below the adjusting knob: 125mm
- Ø ball bearing: 22mm
- Wooden knob: Ø 46mm, thickness 23mm
- Total height with crank and wooden crank knob: 215mm
- Crank projection: 180mm
The following example of a mill is just ONE design option. The shape and dimensions are not binding for the design. Only the dimensions of the millstone, bearing, sleeve, etc. limit the freedom of design.
Woods containing tannic acid such as oak or robinia should not be used. This could lead to corrosion on metal parts of the grinder.
