Robust Stellite cutting edges
In its choice of cutting edge, the Bowlsaver Max4 makes use of a material from the saw industry. The Stellite cutting edges used on all three blades are suitable for hard and soft wood, are extremely wear-resistant and extremely durable. The big advantage is the resistance and robustness to wood inclusions.
(The blades can be easily resharpened by hand with a CBN or diamond wheel at a pre-ground angle (10°)).
Solid base body
The base body of the Bowlsaver Max4 is made of precision-milled cast aluminum. The design allows the blades to be clamped without play. In addition, the blades are stabilized by guides and a durable support plate.
Fastening
The bowl cutter is positioned and mounted over the hand rest base and tailstock of your lathe. As standard, the Max4 is supplied with an MK2 Morse taper mount. Additionally, if needed, this can be attached through the tailstock with a threaded rod (9.5 mm) included in the delivery.
The rigid attachment of the bowlsaver to the hand rest base and tailstock of your lathe thus provides a solid connection and keeps vibration to a minimum.
The included double-walled steel handle is 50 cm long and covered with a foam grip over a length of 21 cm.
A detailed instruction manual and ready-to-use templates, which help you cut out several bowls immediately, are included.
Note: Please additionally select a shank diameter to match your tool rest.
