This useful kit converts any 60° tailstock tip into a tailstock ring tip or pot tip. This attachment has a 60° internal angle, so you just have to put it on the tip of the tailstock center.
The attachment was made of stainless steel S303.
Ø 20 mm, Ø pressure ring 12.5 mm, length 13.5 mm
When used as a ring tip turret, the tip of the turret remains slightly protruding to center your work. A ring point is especially useful when turning wood that tends to split. The ring provides support as opposed to a point, which can act more like a wedge. The crown of the ring is exactly the same as other Axminster centering rings. If you use a solid centering ring in the headstock, it is possible to turn the workpiece over and reinsert it on the lathe exactly after the rings have made their impressions.
When you turn the attachment over, you get a small pot or cone point that rests against a curved surface and is suitable for turning or machining fruit or balls.
