To give your woodturning work - especially with epoxy resin - the finest polish before applying the finish and to achieve a highly refined surface, we recommend Yorkshire Grit grinding paste extra fine.
The creamy grinding paste consists of pharmaceutical-grade ingredients. It contains mineral oils, beeswax and very fine abrasive powder. The abrasive paste acts like liquid, very fine sandpaper. Yorkshire Grit Paste contains no solvent and is almost odorless. When the paste is applied to your woodturning piece, the abrasive powder dissolves into finer grit. The cutting edge remains intact.
The grinding paste reduces the grinding marks of the previous dry sanding or the micro-fine grinding marks of the previous treatment with Yorkshire Grit fine. To sand your woodturning with Yorkshire Grit extra fine, we recommend previous sanding with 400-600 grit or treatment with Yorkshire Grit fine. After sanding with Yorkshire Grit extra fine, the wood gets an appearance comparable to 2000 grit.
Yorkshire Grit is applied directly on the lathe with e.g. a paper towel. Sanding is then carried out at approx. 500 rpm for approx. 1-2 minutes. Depending on the type of wood, a further application may be necessary. If the result of the fine sanding is satisfactory, remove all residues of the sanding paste with a fresh paper towel at a higher speed.
For perfect results - especially with epoxy resin - we recommend subsequent polishing with a buffing wheel.
